USCG Approved & STCW-95 Compliant Basic and Advanced Firefighting

A team of professional firefighting instructors teaches Houston Marine's 51 - hr Basic & Advanced Firefighting course. The course consists of classroom training and practical assessment exercises on the fire field.

On the fire field you will have a chance to respond to the kinds of situations that could someday threaten your vessel and your life. Successful completion of this course will provide you with the skills you need to face the mariner's worst enemy --- Fire at Sea

Upon successful completion of this course you will have satisfied the following USCG and STCW-95 requirements:
  • Basic Safety Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting training requirement of Section A-VI/1 and Table A/VI-1-2 of the STCW code and 46 CFR 10.205 (1)(2) and
  • Advanced Fire Fighting training requirements of section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW code and
  • Basic and advanced Fire Fighting requirements of 46 CFR 10.205(g) and 10.401 (g)(1) for a license and
  • Fire Fighting Training requirements of 46 CFR 13.113 (d)(2)(i)(A), 13.113(e)(1)(i)(A) or (B), 13.201(e), 13.301(e), 13.401(e) or 13.501(e) for any tankerman license
