About Houston Marine

Houston Marine Training Services is the complete training source for professional certification within the maritime industry. Recognizing that achieving, demonstrating and documenting mariner competency is driving future training requirements, Houston Marine offers a wide-range of marine skills development services including STCW-95 compliant, Coast Guard approved Basic Safety, GMDSS, and Vessel Bridge Resource Management Programs.

Established in 1972 to help applicants prepare for Coast Guard license examinations, Houston Marine has evolved with the rapidly changing regulatory environment. As Houston Marine grew to understand how dramatically training requirements were changing for marine vessel operators, it expanded its services to include a broad base of Coast Guard and Liberian approved license/document training courses and proficiency training.

The acquisition of DG Training Systems in the summer of 1998 was just another step towards expanding Houston Marine’s product line to meet the specific training requirements the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) convention are placing on those operating offshore.

As your training partner Houston Marine is committed to ensuring that each mariner is properly trained by the most efficient and cost-effective methods. To date, Houston Marine has served over 70,000 mariners and approximately 700 companies in 12 maritime segment, including offshore service vessels (OSV), inland towing, oceans and near coastal towing, offshore drilling, union companies, deep draft (U.S. flag, Liberian flagged & other), passenger vessel (U.S. flag, Liberian flagged & other), charter vessels, fishing vessels, tankerman, government agencies, and marine associations.
